The snobbiest, most uncompassionate church I've ever been to. Frequented mostly by wealthy people who turn their noses up and look down on those less fortunate than them. I swear, during one service we were told to give even more to the collection plate because the preacher's wife wanted a hot tub! And I know people who found themselves stuck between a rock and a hard place through no fault of their own, and were refused even the most meager of financial help by this supposedly "Christian" organization. First Euless is to Christ what government-growing/record-deficit-creating Republicans are to "conservatism."

They acted like they'd crucify me if they could. I wish them all well, and I forgive them, and I'm never going to try to contact them again. I just deeply regret bothering them with my existence in the first place. Wow. And so much for last Sunday's sermon on "Not Crushing Your Children Unto Giving Up". My situation can happen to anyone, which thankfully Jesus understands from his experience on earth from the same rejection and more, which means I can talk to him about it (he was homeless, in shackles, he was spat on, he was ridiculed and way more, just like churches do to us it seems these days, you know, the whole, "you're not good enough, be gone from our sight," talk before the quick phone click). How is anyone supposed to improve when no one will do anything but make it harder? It'd just be nice for a church somewhere in America or anywhere to be accepting of us impoverished citizens who have impoverished experiences who will take the time to patiently lift us willing people up as we grow stronger to walk on our own. That's all. It'd be great to soon have sparkling eyes again and a smile and be all clean, productive and helpful to others, especially learn God's word and how to apply it in our lives. But no. Churches say they don't do that. What DO churches do, in fact, if they do nothing but pat each others' backs for being so good at nothing they've even done? Is it a club? Is it just for the rich? Tell me now so I'll know to give up hope in any of it. Is it just for those who have the shiny cars, the homes, the families, the money, the power and prestige, you know, all the earthly things which not even our Lord had while on earth? Anyway, Jesus understands me, he's been in my shoes. He knows what it's like for friends to deny him and so way more, not that I am Christ. But I am called to be like Christ, and so are you. It's time to get down with the people, the real people who have not,but are looking, quit being so stuck up on yourselves, maybe even spend the time you'd take to wax that shiny vehicle of yours (which by the way, would pay for a single family home for the poor) to spend time with someone. we dont want money or material things, we want your time, love and attention. You have no idea how valuable TIME is to someone like me who has nothing and no one and no where to go, who has been through horrors of horrors since accepting Christ. I had it good once, when I was doing bad; but now that I follow him, I have it horrible. I'm not saying that it's that way for every one who believes. No. I'm simply saying, when a little sister like myself reaches out when she's exhausted every attempt to make it, and thinks of YOU as her last resort, please don't treat her like trash to be forgotten, for someone else to take out to the curb. We all have to start somewhere, and even restart somewhere, so please rethink your standards upon accepting people who call up next time, in my situation. Thanks. Peace.

  • My wife and I enjoy attending church here. It is a little on the big side for us but the connection and equip groups help to great community and make the church feel smaller. Pastor Meador is a great, biblical teacher and the rest of the staff follow his lead. I would highly recommend you give it a try.
